It's all about Mum at the Pyrmont Bay Park Growers' Market this Saturday, May 7.
It's all about Mum at the Growers' Market this Saturday, May 7. First, there's the Mothers Day raffle - win one of two hampers filled with market goodies. Tickets are free with any market purchase over $10.
Two talented young chefs will also be on show, serving up some of the best the market has to offer.
On the Market Chef stage at 8:30 and 10am is Mark Jensen, head chef at the acclaimed Red Lantern restaurant, using market produce to create recipes from his new book The Urban Cook - all about delicious, sustainable cooking. Mark will also be signing copies of his book, a great mother's day gift idea.
Former Tetsuya's head chef, Darren Robertson, now the brains (and talent) behind the private dinner venture The Table Sessions, is opening his new market stall this month. Visitors can drop past to try his pulled-pork sandwiches using pork and other ingredients from our farmers and growers.
A large range of farm-fresh gifts will be on offer: fabulous flowers, preserves and jams, sweets and pastries and even new season's olive oil.
